WHAT IS MINDFULNESS?
" Mindfulness is a method of paying attention and becoming aware of our thoughts and feelings. In so doing, we learn how to respond to situations rather than getting caught up in the habit of reacting automatically out of unconscious conditioning."
Rob Nairn, 2008
About Mindfulness
Mindfulness is a way of paying attention to and seeing clearly whatever is happening in our lives. It can help us respond to life’s pressures in a calmer manner. It helps to reduce stress as well as develop more focus and mental clarity.
Combining non-religious meditation, breathing techniques and paying attention to the present moment, as well as developing positive thinking and clarity of mind, mindfulness helps people change the way they think, feel and act.
Numerous clinical studies have indicated that mindfulness may help reduce anxiety and negative feelings, as well as lead to better quality sleep and fewer visits to your GP.
Our trainers have been trained by the Mindfulness Association who state, "We believe that Mindfulness is a way of life and not a brief intervention for relieving symptoms. Our unique compassion-based mindfulness courses are for life. Our Mindfulness courses cater for beginners and experienced practitioners..... "
The British Association of Mindfulness-Based Approaches (BAMBA) is an inclusive community of mindfulness practitioners, teachers, trainers and researchers. Upholding standards with inclusivity, integrity, humanity and kindness at its' heart.
